Oak Park, IL. – October 22, 2006 -- The Oak Park Concert Chorale (OPCC), led by director Paul Lindblad, will present its Christmas Concert , “Away In A Manger” on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at 4:00pm, at St John Lutheran Church, 305 Circle Avenue, Forest Park, IL. OPCC remains dedicated to performing varied and exciting music. We invite you to join our prelude to the Christmas season where we will share in the inspiration of carols both ancient and modern. The concert will feature innovative carols commissioned by OPCC along with familiar favorites from our rich tradition. Come enjoy the Cantata Uns ist Ein Kind Geboren (For Unto Us a Child is Born) by JS Bach and works by Heinrich Schutz, and Zoltán Kodály, as well as compositions by Chicago area composers Paul Bouman, Richard Hillert, Carl Schalk and Kevin Allen.

About Oak Park Concert Chorale: One of the Midwest's leading choral ensembles featuring both a cappella and accompanied performances. The Chorale is comprised of a diverse group of individuals that embrace their differences of age, ethnicity, and culture. Our members come from as far east as Hungary and from as far south as St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Led by Director Paul Lindblad, the chorale consists of approximately 30 singers who offer highly artistic performances of varied and exciting choral music.
